This step on the face is one of the most important and can't be overemphasized, although it's hard to photograph. If you'll look a close look at the pictures, you'll notice that I drew a centerline on the face. Most of my students know that I don't draw on my carvings, but I'm hoping it will make the pictures plainer. Both sides of the face have been slightly angled in to the center line, making a rounded wedge of the face. Try to see the face as two sides, not a front. Half of the face will be visible from the side view on each side.
